SDI OVERVIEW
Have you ever had a boss and you thought “they don’t know what they’re doing.” Or maybe you’ve felt like YOU are that boss. Most managers get promoted without any training on how to shift from contributing to the value creation process into becoming a true leader. And it is a daunting task to learn alone.

Or if you are just wanting to up your team’s game, take it to the next level, and ignite greater value, purpose, and satisfaction for the people in your workplace, then this is for you.

Job 1: Sever
Your first job is to sever yourself from the work of the team. You are no longer the top performer. YOU ARE THE LEADER. Your team is counting on you to take that role, and let them do what they do best. And so, your first job is to begin managing the resources that the team needs. Sever yourself from value creation and do something greater for your team with your time and energy.
Here’s a start: they need you to be Supplying the essential Elements needed for Value creation to your team, and then managing the Effects of that work, Restoring and replenishing those elements. Without that, their work falls apart. And if you (or someone else) isn’t doing it, then they spend their time doing it, instead of creating value… A huge loss. This first job is crucial.

Job 2: DEVELOP
We manage resources, but we LEAD people. And how do we take the lead? Leading others can easily be understood in the context of development.
As a leader, you must develop the vision of what the team will become under your leadership. Without it, your team will stagnate, or worse. Then based on that vision, you need to develop the goals that will bring your vision to life. Now comes the truly rewarding part. In order to accomplish the goals you’ve set and realize the vision you have in mind you need to develop yourself, others, and the system. This is where the rubber meets the road and leadership becomes truly challenging and satisfying.

Job 3: Iterate
There is one thing you can count on in life, change. So you can either let it happen to you, or you can take the reigns and happen to it.
To Iterate is to be ever aware of the success or failure of the activity of the team or of the other elements of your system. It means to be seeking for understanding of those failures, their causes, and making changes that address them. Iteration is a state of constant motion, not settling in any one place long enough for a status quo to take root.
To enter the iterative cycle of improvement and get the wheels spinning click “Go To Iterate”. Otherwise read on to see how SDI Framework can help you.
